Hyundai Motor Company is conducting a social contribution campaign to provide comprehensive support and raise awareness for people with disabilities in the India region.
Hyundai Motor India announced that on the 21st, it held the social contribution campaign event 'Hyundai Samarth' at the Andaz Hotel in New Delhi to support people with disabilities.
Hyundai started the Samarth campaign to raise awareness about the more than 26.8 million people with disabilities in India and in line with Hyundai’s global vision, "Progress for Humanity." The event was attended by government officials including Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, NGO partners, and film actor Shah Rukh Khan, who serves as Hyundai Motor India’s regional brand ambassador.

Hyundai is the first automobile company in India to promote a disability awareness campaign utilizing mobility. In particular, it plans to carry out social contribution activities to nurture athletes with disabilities in collaboration with NGOs. It will open training camps for visually impaired cricket players and support them to participate in international competitions. Additionally, it will provide assistive devices for athletes with disabilities.
Services for people with disabilities at customer touchpoints will also be strengthened. Hyundai will improve its showrooms and service centers in India to make it easier for customers with disabilities to visit. The corporate website will also be revamped to create a digital environment with enhanced accessibility and usability for people with disabilities. Furthermore, Hyundai, together with Hyundai Mobis, is developing and launching swivel seats and accessories to improve vehicle usability for people with disabilities.
Kim Eonsu, Vice President and Head of Hyundai Motor India, Africa & Middle East Region, said, "Hyundai is striving not only to manufacture cars but also to deliver the global vision of 'Progress for Humanity.' This Samarth campaign is an expression of that belief."
