Jeonbuk National University 'JBNU International Students Festival' Heats Up... 'The World is One'

Participation of International Students from Various Countries... Cultural Experience and Communication Event

International Student Club Game Miryeon, Diverse Korean Culture Experience

Jeonbuk National University (President Yang Obong), recognized as the university most satisfying to international students, held the '2023 JBNU International Student Festival' on the 22nd.


The event was organized to promote interaction among international students and enhance their satisfaction with life in Korea. International students of various nationalities studying at Jeonbuk National University came together.


At the festival, participants experienced each other's cultures through various activities and spent a unified time enjoying traditional Korean cultural experiences.

The event featured seven international student associations from Nepal, Mongolia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, China, and Pakistan, where students wore their traditional clothing or shared traditional foods to introduce their cultures.


Diverse Korean cultural experience programs such as making cheongsachorong lanterns and trying on hanbok were also offered, and international student clubs operated game and gukgung (Korean traditional archery) booths to add more enjoyment.


Performances including samulnori, Taepyeongmu, and Taekwondo introduced the beauty and charm of Korea to the international students. Additionally, there was an opportunity for students to showcase their skills honed over time through a talent show and Korean speaking contest.


International student I Jaang (China) said, "I am very grateful that such a large event was organized to help us international students quickly adapt to university life and strengthen our bonds. It was a very meaningful time to communicate with friends from various nationalities and understand the cultures of many countries."


President Yang Obong also participated in the festival in the morning, greeting international students and encouraging those striving to achieve their dreams far from home.


President Yang stated, "I believe this was a precious time to share and understand the cultures of different countries with diverse cultural backgrounds. Through the Glocal University 30 project, we will attract even more international students and spare no effort to support them in fully realizing their dreams."
