Secured 25 Million KRW for Recycling Support Project of Discarded Banners
Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do is practicing carbon neutrality by recycling discarded waste banners into eco-bags, mini wallets, and gourds.
According to the county on the 22nd, it was selected for the ‘Waste Banner Recycling Support Project’ conducted by Jeollanam-do and secured 25 million KRW.
Through this, they are promoting an eco-friendly policy project by producing and distributing 300 free artworks and 100 large fish bags.

In collaboration with the Jangheung-gun Rural New Vitality Center, the county provided 1,300 waste banners, and with the help of 33 residents from village community projects in Haengwon 1-gu, Jangheung-eup, Usan-ri, Gwansan-eup, and Yongban-ri, Busan-myeon, the waste banners were transformed beautifully.
The recycled products will be provided free of charge to residents, and some of the sales proceeds will be donated to low-income groups.
The achievements will be exhibited at the ‘Pum Festival,’ part of the Jangheung-eup Rural Hub Revitalization Project, held at the Jangheung County Hall small conference room at 2 p.m. on the 25th.
Photos of activities collecting river and seaside household waste using the large fish bags will be made into calendars and distributed, and promotional videos will be produced on YouTube to publicize the project’s achievements.
County Governor Kim Seong said, “Through this project, we expect to reduce the amount of waste banners incinerated, thereby decreasing environmental pollution,” adding, “We will continue to strive to contribute to carbon neutrality by expanding and sharing recycling cases in the future.”
