This industry-academia cooperation council was held following the selection of the eSports Professional Workforce Training Project (Higher Education Institutions) by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) in July, and aimed to diagnose the educational curriculum operation performance of the Department of eSports Industry, established in 2020, and to gather opinions from field experts on the reorganization of the eSports curriculum in response to changes in social demand.

Additionally, recognizing that field experience is one of the core competencies important in the eSports industry, students exchanged opinions on participation in field training at companies and corporate demands.

Experts participating in the forum emphasized that the integration of eSports and media is one of the important issues in related fields, and that it is necessary to operate education to equip students with expertise to work in areas such as youth instructors for local youth through eSports coaching. They also expressed that the introduction of Honam University’s AI specialization is meaningful in that the use of AI in eSports coaching will become an essential requirement.
