Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 22nd that it is conducting cleaning of all 77 village bus stops' boarding areas within the district until the 30th of this month.

The district has expanded the village bus boarding area cleaning from once a year to twice a year starting this year. Accordingly, the cleaning includes washing and disinfecting the boarding area structures, canopies, and waiting benches, as well as collecting trash around the boarding areas.

This cleaning is being carried out by Daehanminguk Dongjak Corporation, established last year by the district to support urban maintenance and provide jobs for various groups such as the elderly and women.

Meanwhile, by the end of the year, the district will install and replace newly designed Dongjak-gu style boarding areas at old or boarding area-lacking village bus stops. To enhance public transportation convenience for residents, the district plans to first renew and install combined boarding areas with heated benches and Bus Information Terminals (BIT) at five village bus stops within the district.

Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “We will continue to spare no support to create a clean urban environment.”
