Roles of Youth Leading the Metaverse Industry and Future Directions Highlighted
Various Contents Including Domestic and International Youth Exchange and Metaverse Experience Events
The 'International Youth Metaverse Conference' was held on the 21st and 22nd at the POSCO International Hall under the theme of the Big Blur era led by youth.
Big Blur refers to the phenomenon where the boundaries between industries become blurred as the transition to a digital economy, including artificial intelligence and robotics, accelerates.
The conference began with a keynote speech by Professor Kim Sang-gyun of Kyung Hee University titled 'The Metaverse World Created by Superhumans,' followed by lectures from global scholars from the United States, Japan, and Mongolia, as well as experts from leading domestic and international metaverse companies. Discussions continued under the theme 'The Future of the Metaverse Where Past and Present Coexist.'
At this event, business strategies for the metaverse industry, which is developing through convergence with various technologies and industries such as AI and blockchain, were presented, highlighting the roles and directions for youth who will lead the metaverse industry.
Additionally, to promote exchange among domestic and international youth and expand the metaverse base, various content events were prepared, including metaverse virtual experience booths, exhibitions of outstanding works from the Metaverse Creation Festival, and a digital photo exhibition related to cultural tourism in Gyeongbuk Province.
Kim Nam-il, Deputy Mayor of Pohang City, stated, “The metaverse industry is a new industry sector representing the digital era, and we will proactively respond to and support the discovery and nurturing of the metaverse industry without hesitation in cooperation.”
