DA Technology announced on the 21st that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shanghai Yogo Robot Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Yogo Robot) to officially launch its robot business.
Based on this MOU, DA Technology plans to supply Yogo Robot's autonomous delivery robots globally, including in Korea and the United States. To facilitate smooth sales and marketing operations, the company intends to establish a Korea-China joint venture and secure technology usage rights for Yogo Robot. Furthermore, as it plans to develop batteries for robots, a formal contract is expected to be signed soon.
Founded in Shanghai in 2016, Yogo Robot gained attention within three years by launching not only autonomous delivery robots but also a robot-based unmanned delivery solution called the ‘Smart Delivery Station.’ Recognized for its technological capabilities, the company successfully raised a Series C investment worth several hundred million yuan from Centurium Capital last year.
Yogo Robot has strengths that allow its application not only in parcel and delivery services but also in hotels. It possesses precise location detection capabilities accurate to at least 1mm and features obstacle avoidance for moving objects. Through this, it can deliver items to exact locations and even provide location guidance services to customers unfamiliar with the area.
To collaborate with Chinese companies, DA Technology has secured partners including lawyers and commercial management experts. Notably, the president who joined as a partner previously worked at Wanda Group, a leading large-scale real estate developer in China. He completed three major stages at the group headquarters, from being the first project president of the Yichang project to president of the Tianjin region, and vice president of the Shangguan Headquarters Operations Center as well as president of the Northern Management Department. Currently, he has established companies in Seattle, USA, and Beijing, China, focusing on asset management and overseas real estate investment.
A company official stated, “Through strategic meetings with Yogo Robot, we discussed not only the signing of the MOU but also the formal contract. Next week, Yogo Robot will visit Korea in person to discuss concretizing the formal contract and establishing the joint venture.”
He added, “As we are recently strengthening robot business cooperation with our new business partner Corisen, this collaboration with the Chinese robot company will accelerate our robot business.”
