Lee Hyerim and Moon Sinyoung, students of the Department of Lifelong Education and Youth Counseling at Dong-Eui University, along with their department club ‘Atti,’ received the Busan Mayor’s Award and other honors at the 2023 Busan Youth Volunteer Awards ceremony held on the 11th at the Busan Ilbo Small Auditorium.
Hosted by Busan City and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and organized by the Busan Youth Activity Promotion Center, the Busan Youth Volunteer Awards annually recognize and reward youth, clubs, and leaders who take the lead in youth volunteer activities.
This year, 7 youths, 8 clubs, 2 leaders, and 7 youth volunteer bases received awards including the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award and the Busan Mayor’s Award.
At Dong-Eui University’s Department of Lifelong Education and Youth Counseling, third-year student Lee Hyerim received the Busan Mayor’s Award, and second-year student Moon Sinyoung was awarded the Busan Youth Activity Promotion Center Director’s Award. Additionally, the club ‘Atti’ won the Busan City Council Chairman’s Award in the club category.

Student Lee Hyerim provides social and emotional support to various children and youth through ADHD emotional mentoring linked with the Mental Health Welfare Center and is active in the Youth Harmony Yard Planning Group and the Youth Operating Committee.
Student Moon Sinyoung participates as a mentor for children and youth with ADHD in the WIN-WIN Partner Mentoring program operated by the Yeonje District Mental Health Welfare Center and consistently engages in planning and operating programs connected with youth training facilities.
The club Atti, composed of 38 enrolled students, develops their capabilities as prospective youth leaders by acquiring diverse knowledge and information through volunteer activities involving the planning, development, and operation of youth activity programs.
Department head Oh Hyukjin stated, “I hope the students’ continuous efforts and achievements in their activities become opportunities to take a step closer to their individual dreams, and I expect their voluntary sharing of talents to contribute to the healthy growth of youth.”
