The Seoul Companion Job Project is a job program designed for vulnerable groups such as daily workers without regular income to help other socially disadvantaged individuals.
The district plans to recruit a total of 306 people in the first half of the year, which is an increase of 52 compared to the first half of 2023.
The recruitment fields are ▲Economic field: 18 people (welfare companion assistants at community service centers, etc.) ▲Physical field: 56 people (school zone child traffic guidance project, etc.) ▲Social safety field: 75 people (patrols to prevent accidents in safety-vulnerable areas, etc.) ▲Digital field: 5 people (Our Neighborhood Safety Environment Management Team) ▲Climate and environment field: 152 people (maintenance of residents' resting spaces, etc.).
Applicants must be Gwangjin-gu residents aged 18 or older as of the project start date (January 15, 2024). However, those who ▲have a combined family property exceeding 469 million KRW ▲have a household income exceeding 80% of the median income based on household members ▲or are recipients of unemployment benefits are excluded.
In addition to property and income criteria, the district selects participants by comprehensively considering the number of times they have participated in public jobs and preferential conditions for each project.
The working period is from January 15 to June 30, 2024, and the salary will be based on the 2024 minimum wage (9,860 KRW per hour).
Residents wishing to participate should bring their ID and visit their local community service center to submit the application and related documents by November 30.
For more details, visit the Gwangjin-gu Office website under the 'Recruitment Announcements' section. For inquiries, contact the Gwangjin-gu Office Job and Youth Division or the local community service center.
The final selected candidates will be announced around January 8, 2024, via the district office website and individual notifications.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “It is meaningful that participants gain employment while helping other socially disadvantaged individuals. This year, 536 people participated in the Companion Job Project. We will continue to seek various ways to provide quality jobs.”
