The Gwangju Bukbu Police Station announced on the 20th that they have sent a man in his 30s, Mr. A, to prosecution without detention on charges of embezzlement for personally using money collected from fans who demanded the resignation of KIA professional baseball manager Kim Jong-guk.

Mr. A is suspected of embezzling about half of the 7 million won raised by KIA fans from June 19 to August 17 as donations for protests calling for the manager's resignation. He reportedly collected money online, claiming he would urge the manager's resignation through a "truck protest." A truck protest refers to a demonstration where a truck equipped with an LED billboard displaying demands is driven around.

According to the police investigation, Mr. A used some of the donations for truck rental fees, but the remaining money was used for personal purposes. KIA fans filed a complaint in August, accusing Mr. A of collecting donations under the pretext of a resignation protest and then absconding with the funds, a so-called "meoktwi" (eating and running).
