Speech on Administration at the 2nd Regular Session of the 325th Damyang County Council on the 20th
Presenting Next Year's County Administration Direction Featuring Changes and Innovations to Lead the Full-Scale Local Era
Jeonnam Damyang-gun announced that County Governor Lee Byeong-no presented the direction for next year's county administration during the 2nd regular session of the 325th Damyang County Council held on the 20th.
Governor Lee Byeong-no stated, "While the focus so far has been on laying the groundwork for the 8th popularly elected term, next year we will enhance the completeness of current projects to achieve tangible results that resonate with the residents," and proposed key policies by sector to concretely realize this goal.
The governor emphasized six core policies to lead next year: ▲ Increasing farm household income to create prosperous rural communities ▲ Establishing a meticulous Damyang-style village welfare system that cares more and reaches out further ▲ Creating a vibrant economic city by laying the foundation for future growth engines ▲ Preparing for the era of 20 million tourists by developing a cultural tourism city that everyone wants to visit ▲ Improving residential environments to build a premium city where anyone wants to live ▲ Implementing a dynamic local government that residents can feel.
The 2024 budget to support these core policies was set at 488.9 billion KRW, a 5.4% decrease from this year's original budget, due to a reduction in local allocation tax following the government's sound fiscal policy.
Governor Lee Byeong-no said, "As we enter the full-fledged local era, we will implement the nation's best policy role model that embodies Damyang's unique characteristics and values," and added, "I ask for active cooperation so that the county's major current projects can establish themselves as growth engines for the region."
