Daegu Suseong-gu (District Mayor Kim Dae-kwon) announced on the 20th that four local youths were finally hired through a recruitment event held in collaboration with a Japanese company and are now working at Kansai International Airport in Japan.
This recruitment was arranged following the ‘Japan International Airport Online Recruitment Briefing’ held by Suseong-gu on the 16th of last month to provide overseas employment opportunities for local youths and foster a global mindset.
A local youth is answering the interviewer's questions during an online recruitment interview for Japanese companies, held on the 15th by Suseong-gu, Daegu, in collaboration with Japan International Air Passenger Service Co., Ltd. (WAPS).
Japan International Air Passenger Service Co., Ltd. (WAPS), which manages personnel for Kansai International Airport and Osaka International Airport in Japan, expressed a desire to hire Korean youths.
The interviews were conducted online via video conference at the Suseong-gu Office Manchon Annex on the 15th, with five of the six candidates who passed the document screening attending. The interviewees introduced themselves in Japanese and English and answered questions from the interviewers regarding the knowledge and skills required for airport work.
The four successful candidates will work at Kansai International Airport located in Izumisano City, Japan, a sister city of Suseong-gu. Two of them are currently undergoing visa procedures for departure, while the other two, who are third-year university students, will be hired without additional exams after one year.
This recruitment was largely supported by the proactive introduction from Izumisano City in Japan. Additionally, through the ‘Foreign Local Government Officials Invitation Training Program (K2H),’ officials from Izumisano City who have worked in Suseong-gu will assist Korean youths in adapting well to life in Japan.
A representative of Japan International Air Passenger Service Co., Ltd. stated, “This is the first time we have conducted recruitment in collaboration with Korean local governments and universities. We were surprised by the many outstanding talents, and we plan to hold an offline briefing session in Daegu next year.”
Kim Dae-kwon, Mayor of Daegu Suseong-gu, expressed his aspirations for overseas exchanges, saying, “Suseong-gu will actively collaborate with overseas sister cities to help our local youths grow into global talents.”
