Anseong-si Allocates 1.1738 Trillion Won Budget for Next Year... 1.28% Increase Compared to This Year

Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province has prepared a budget proposal of 1.1738 trillion KRW for the next year. This represents an increase of 1.28% compared to this year.


Mayor Kim Bora of Anseong announced the budget proposal and the city administration plan at the regular city council plenary session held on the 20th.

In his policy speech that day, Mayor Kim said, "In a situation where fiscal tightening is becoming a reality due to reductions in local allocation tax and adjustment grants, we have boldly cut unnecessary budgets and focused on budgeting for stabilizing people's livelihoods, revitalizing the local economy, and securing future growth engines." He added, "We will do our best toward a prosperous Anseong where we live together through warm administration that embraces citizens."


The next year's budget announced by the city consists of 996.5 billion KRW in the general account and 177.3 billion KRW in the special account, characterized by maximum restraint on recurring expenses. The general account budget proposal by sector includes ▲General public administration 67.6 billion KRW ▲Education 43.1 billion KRW ▲Culture and tourism 66.1 billion KRW ▲Environment 51.6 billion KRW ▲Social welfare 374 billion KRW ▲Health 14.4 billion KRW ▲Agriculture, forestry, marine and fisheries 111.6 billion KRW ▲Transportation and logistics 78 billion KRW ▲Industry, small and medium enterprises, and energy 18 billion KRW ▲Land and regional development 45.3 billion KRW.


Mayor Kim presented the key policies for next year as ▲Ensuring urban sustainability and expanding growth potential ▲Strengthening health and welfare to guarantee citizens' social rights ▲Creating a city with culture in daily life ▲Improving the transportation system and expanding the transport network using smart technology ▲Enhancing competitiveness in agriculture and livestock ▲Fostering advanced industries and launching the city corporation ▲Expanding citizen convenience infrastructure ▲Operating an efficient administrative organization through organizational restructuring.


Mayor Kim emphasized, "In an era of uncertainty where not even an inch ahead can be predicted, the most important variable determining the survival of a city lies in 'innovation'." He added, "With the spirit of Ugong Isan (愚公移山) and Geuksecheokdo (克世拓道), we will move forward vigorously together with the citizens."


The next year's main budget prepared by the city is scheduled to be finalized through the city council plenary session on the 15th of next month.
