Goseong-gun Conducts Sexual Harassment, Sexual Violence, Prostitution, and Domestic Violence Prevention Training for Employees

Expected to Foster a Healthy Organizational Culture

On the 20th, Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held the '2023 Public Institution Sexual Harassment, Sexual Violence, Prostitution, and Domestic Violence Prevention and Protection Education' at the county office's large conference room.

Goseong County conducted education on the prevention and protection against the four major types of violence for its employees.

The education on the four major types of violence is mandatory training conducted annually for all employees. Until now, it had been replaced by cyber education to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but for the first time in four years since 2019, it was held as in-person training, attended by about 220 participants including public officials, public employees, and fixed-term workers.

The training was led by Yeom Geon-ryeong, director of the Korea Institute of Criminology, under the theme of 'Fostering Gender Equality and Gender Sensitivity and Prevention of the Four Major Types of Violence.' The session covered ▲system changes after COVID-19 ▲cases of sexual harassment in the workplace ▲issues of sexual harassment through text messages ▲and the attitudes public officials should adopt to create a healthy organizational culture.

County Governor Lee Sang-geun said, "Through this training, I hope employees establish a sound value system regarding 'gender,' overcome generational gaps among staff, and foster a healthy workplace culture based on mutual respect and consideration."

Earlier, in May, the county conducted a 'Special Training for the Prevention of the Four Major Types of Violence' targeting high-ranking public officials, including the county governor.
