Yeongdeok-gun Hosts One Mind Festival for Village Chiefs Association

A Place for Communication and Harmony Among 204 Family Members of 9 Eup and Myeon Village Chiefs

The Yeongdeok County Village Chiefs Association in Gyeongbuk held the "2023 Yeongdeok County Village Chiefs Association Unity Festival" on the 17th at the Yeongdeok Culture and Sports Center, providing a venue for 204 village chiefs from towns and townships in Yeongdeok County and their families to communicate and harmonize.

The first part of the event began with the opening declaration by Kim Seok-won, Senior Vice President of the Village Chiefs Association. In recognition of contributions to regional development, the Yeongdeok County Village Chiefs Association received a group commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety.

Additionally, nine exemplary village chiefs who dedicated themselves to community harmony and regional development were awarded commendations from the National Assembly member, Yeongdeok County Governor, Chairman of Yeongdeok County Council, Chief of Yeongdeok Fire Station, Head of NH Nonghyup Central Association Yeongdeok Branch, and President of the Gyeongbuk Province Village Chiefs Association. Furthermore, three outstanding employees supporting village chief duties were presented with appreciation plaques from the President of the Yeongdeok County Village Chiefs Association.

In the second part of the Unity Festival, two representatives from each town and township participated in sports events such as Hangung, Tuho, and Jegichagi. During the singing contest, one singer from each town and township competed, providing an opportunity for the village chiefs of the nine towns and townships to unite and strengthen their bonds.

Jung Sam-jin, President of the Yeongdeok County Village Chiefs Association, said, “I am very pleased to hold this event for the first time with 204 village leaders and their families. I hope we can cooperate together with pride, knowing that our efforts and sacrifices are the foundation of Yeongdeok’s development.”
