On the 20th, a Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency official stated at a press briefing held at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in Jongno-gu, Seoul, "On the 18th, Hwang, who is suspected of illegal filming, was reclassified as a suspect and investigated," adding, "This is not a complaint or accusation, but due to circumstances suggesting illegal filming, he was reclassified as a suspect." Furthermore, the official added, "(Hwang) denies the charges."

A woman, Ms. A, who claimed through SNS that Hwang had relationships with multiple women and distributed photos and videos of Hwang with women, was detained on the 16th on charges of distribution. In June, Hwang's side claimed that on November 4 of last year, Hwang's mobile phone was stolen and he received threatening messages such as "I will distribute the photos" and "It will be fun if it gets out."

On June 26, Hwang's lawyer filed a complaint against Ms. A for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act and for threats and coercion related to the use of filmed materials under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.
