ToBeSoft Advances Nexacro AI Integration and Video Recognition Technology Development

ToBeSoft, a DX (Digital Transformation) solution specialist company led by CEO Lee Kyung-chan, announced on the 20th that it will accelerate development related to artificial intelligence (AI) technology and actively target the video information market, which can be used as AI training data, following the government's announcement of the ‘Data Economy Activation Promotion Tasks’.

ToBeSoft is making multifaceted efforts to expand external cooperation and market presence based on AI technology. In July, it launched ‘Nexa Assist,’ which integrates AI technology into the development framework ‘Nexacro.’ Nexa Assist is a service that supports developers in easily and quickly searching for the necessary code. By utilizing embedding technology from OpenAI, widely known as the developer of ChatGPT, it displays optimal codes in order of similarity, maximizing user convenience.

Earlier, on the 15th, the government held an emergency economic ministers' meeting at the Seoul Government Complex in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, where relevant ministries jointly discussed key tasks for new projects in various fields such as AI, medical care, and health.

The government announced that starting this month, it will fully implement the ‘Regulatory Sandbox Demonstration Exception’ that allows companies related to autonomous vehicles and mobile robots to utilize original video data to advance autonomous driving technology, ensuring they receive appropriate compensation for copyrighted works.

ToBeSoft has achieved results in AI analysis technology by advancing algorithms that process various source data such as poses, gestures, text, and facial recognition. The recently upgraded smart access control system ‘V-PASS’ not only enhances convenience for visitors and managers but also simultaneously addresses personal information protection and security tasks. It can also add AI-based facial recognition functionality if needed, enabling identity verification and convenient management using only visitors' faces.

On the dance challenge platform ‘ClubMeta App,’ launched jointly by ToBeSoft and its affiliate ToBeMeta, AI-based choreography recognition technology that analyzes movements to recognize choreography is applied, currently receiving positive market responses. In particular, ClubMeta leads the choreography market, a blind spot for copyright protection, by proving choreographers' unique originality through AI technology based on ToBeSoft’s AI engine technology, thereby protecting choreography copyrights and pioneering the market.

Currently, the platform allows users to check the AI choreography analysis process, enabling challenge participants to upload and analyze choreography themselves. This aligns with the government’s trend of preparing ‘AI Copyright Guidelines’ within the year to ensure fair compensation for various works used as AI training data, including creative works, drawing attention.

Additionally, ToBeSoft recently discussed technical cooperation on AI platforms with a healthcare solution subsidiary of a global big tech company M through its local US corporation. This company is an AI-based healthcare solution provider, acquired by M in 2021 for $19.7 billion (approximately 26.4 trillion KRW), and recorded sales of $1.29 billion (approximately 1.7 trillion KRW) as of 2022.

Lee Im-chan, CEO of ToBeSoft, said, “If the government’s regulatory relaxation moves forward and guidelines for AI works are established, we believe another growth opportunity will come to ToBeSoft, which has been dedicated to related technology development.” He added, “We will continue efforts for technology development and commercialization to grow as a global AI platform company in the future.”

Meanwhile, according to the global research firm ‘Fortune Business Insights,’ the global AI market size is expected to grow explosively at an average annual rate of 21.6%, from $428 billion (approximately 573 trillion KRW) in 2022 to $2.0251 trillion (approximately 2,713 trillion KRW) by 2030.
