MakeShop Signs Virtual Fitting Business Agreement with DeepPixel

Connectwave, a specialized e-commerce company, announced on the 20th that its integrated e-commerce solution MakeShop has signed a business agreement on virtual fitting with DeepPixel, a company specializing in virtual fitting solution Style AR.

The signing ceremony was held on the afternoon of the 17th at Connectwave’s main conference room located in Park One, Yeouido, Seoul, attended by MakeShop’s Business Director Kim Sang-hyuk and DeepPixel’s CEO Lee Jae-hoon, along with executives from both companies.

As the domestic and international e-commerce markets continue to grow, the virtual fitting market size is also steadily expanding due to the increasing demand for personalized new shopping experiences. Virtual Fitting is a technology that allows consumers to virtually try on various products such as clothing, shoes, and hats. According to market research firm Market and Markets, the global virtual fitting market is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 21%, reaching $7.6 billion (approximately 10 trillion KRW) by 2024.

Through this business agreement, both companies will focus on MakeShop’s AR (Augmented Reality) commerce, emphasizing DeepPixel’s technological capabilities and creativity. They plan to expand consumers’ choices through virtual try-ons and enhance convenience in the purchasing process.

In particular, related services have been tested with New Era, a U.S. hat brand and official partner of MLB, and virtual fitting events are being prepared both online and offline with women’s shoe brand Sappun and Pink Elephant. Furthermore, MakeShop plans to expand virtual fitting technology across all MakeShop stores to strengthen the competitiveness of its shopping malls.

Lee Jae-hoon, CEO of DeepPixel, said, "Providing customers with personalized new shopping experiences is a key competitive advantage and optimal marketing strategy in the e-commerce market. I am very pleased to be able to innovate the e-commerce market together with MakeShop, a leading online shopping platform, starting with this business agreement, and I look forward to positive synergy going forward."

Kim Sang-hyuk, Business Director of MakeShop, stated, "Through cooperation with DeepPixel, which is gaining attention for its virtual fitting solution technology, the MakeShop platform will be further advanced. Going forward, MakeShop will provide various services, including PLAi, a private LLM aimed at increasing shopping satisfaction, in addition to virtual fitting technology."

Meanwhile, DeepPixel is a deep-tech startup researching visual intelligence and is currently developing and servicing the virtual fitting solution StyleAR. StyleAR allows customers to easily experience AR live fitting anywhere online or offline using a web browser embedded in their smartphones without the hassle of installing an app, accessible via QR code (or link), making it very convenient.
