Kakao's Kim Beom-su Holds 4th Emergency Management Meeting... Discusses Follow-up Measures for Taxi Business

Kim Beom-su, founder of Kakao and head of the Future Initiative Center, held the 4th Emergency Community Management Meeting to discuss follow-up measures following the roundtable meeting between Kakao Mobility and taxi organizations.

At 7 a.m. on the 20th, Center Head Kim presided over the 4th Emergency Community Management Meeting at Kakao Pangyo Ajit in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. More than 20 participants attended, including CEOs of major Kakao communities.


The meeting covered follow-up measures related to the roundtable meeting between Kakao Mobility and taxi organizations, as well as discussions on compliance and the affiliate agreement of the Trust and Compliance Committee.

At the 3rd Emergency Management Meeting on the 13th, Center Head Kim expressed his commitment to reform by mentioning a "re-examination of all services and businesses from the ground up." He said, "As the founder of Kakao, I deeply accept the criticism from many people," and added, "Through the Trust and Compliance Committee and the Management Reform Committee, we will undergo external oversight and swiftly reform so that Kakao, which has received the love of the public, can become a new Kakao. We will do our best."


Last week, Kakao Mobility held a relay roundtable meeting with four taxi organizations (National Taxi Labor Union Federation, National Democratic Taxi Labor Union Federation, National Private Taxi Transport Business Association Federation, National Taxi Transport Business Association Federation) and the Franchise Taxi Council (Korea Private Taxi T Blue Council) to discuss a taxi business restructuring plan. The plan includes starting by lowering the actual commission rate for franchise taxis (KakaoT Blue) to below 3% and simplifying the dispatch system, with the goal of preparing a taxi business restructuring plan within the year.
