Heo Eun-a "Now is the divorce reflection period... If there is no change in the Presidential Office, we may part ways"

People Power Party Lawmaker, SBS Radio Interview
"Change in Yongsan Comes Before Asking About Leaving the Party"
"Must Show Following Public Sentiment, Not Just Yoon's Will"

Heo Eun-ah, a member of the People Power Party, responded to whether she would join the new party being promoted by former leader Lee Jun-seok by saying, "Instead of asking if he will leave the party, it is more appropriate to ask the Yongsan (Presidential Office) people whether they will change or not."

On the 20th, Heo appeared on SBS Radio's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' and stated that if there is no change in the Presidential Office, she might leave the party. Leaving the party and founding a new one is a second-best option, and if the Presidential Office and the party change, she might stay in the party.

Heo said, "There is a reflection period even when getting a divorce. It is a waiting period for the unknown," adding, "It is not that I want to leave because I want to. Representative Kim Woong also said, 'I have not been kicked out yet,' and 'I have no intention of leaving the party yet,' but former leader Lee Jun-seok said he was 'kicked out.' It means that even in a situation where one cannot help but be kicked out, they still want to try to resolve things between the couple until the end."

She continued, regarding Lee setting the date of the 27th of next month as the decision point for founding a new party, "They might reunite within that time or part ways amicably."

However, Heo said, "I think it is a bit difficult to see positive signs of change from the President," explaining, "Because the relationship between the party and the government is too close, even the party leader and the Innovation Committee talk about Yoon's mind. What we hope for is not Yoon's mind but to follow the public sentiment, but the symbols of what we still see have not changed, so it is hard to trust."

Regarding the possibility of former leader Lee remaining in the People Power Party, she said, "The government needs to solve the task of why our approval rating is only this much," adding, "If they do this well, no media will accept whatever message Lee sends or even if he forms a new party, and Yongsan will not care either."

Heo said that if former leader Lee definitely decides to found a new party after the 27th of next month, "If that happens, I will seriously consider it and might agree with that direction."
