Doosan Fuel Cell announced on the 20th that it held a special lecture titled "Hydrogen Energy Career Exploration Class" on the 18th at the West Incheon Power Plant Headquarters of Korea Western Power in Seo-gu, Incheon, focusing on understanding the hydrogen industry and hydrogen fuel cells. About 60 participants, including high school students and related personnel, attended the lecture, with the team leader of Doosan Fuel Cell's hydrogen fuel cell development team serving as the lecturer.
This special lecture is part of the "Basic Hydrogen Energy Exploration Joint Education Program" activity, which Incheon City is conducting in collaboration with the local education office and universities to nurture hydrogen talent. It is meaningful as a social contribution activity linked to Doosan Fuel Cell's business. Incheon City and the education office recruit about 60 high school students twice a year to conduct this educational program, and Doosan Fuel Cell plans to provide two special lectures annually starting this year.
Doosan Fuel Cell structured the lecture content to help students correctly recognize the safety and social value of hydrogen fuel cells and to foster interest in the hydrogen industry. The lecture, which began with a company introduction, proceeded in the order of ▲ renewable energy including hydrogen ▲ the composition and operating principles of hydrogen fuel cells ▲ and an on-site tour of the West Incheon hydrogen fuel cell power plant.
Additionally, Doosan Fuel Cell held a career exploration session using data-based career assessment tools to assist students in exploring careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and the energy sector.
A Doosan Fuel Cell official stated, "Incheon City is promoting policy projects such as revitalizing hydrogen-related industries and nurturing hydrogen personnel, maintaining a cooperative relationship with Doosan Fuel Cell by operating multiple hydrogen fuel cell power plants together. We will conduct various educational programs for students who are highly interested in hydrogen and considering careers in the hydrogen field to contribute to nurturing talent in the hydrogen sector."
