[Yeouido Interview] In Yohan "When I Speak Out, Park Jiwon Falls"

Innovation Committee, Park Ji-won Mentioned 'Ends with a Tiny Amount'
In Yo-han "Must Uphold Morality... Speaking Out Leads to Park's Fall"
Emphasizing Honesty, "Trusting the People" Highlighted

In Yohan, the Innovation Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, said to former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won, "When I open my mouth, Park Ji-won falls."

In an interview with Asia Economy held at the People Power Party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul on the 17th, Chairman In mentioned former Director Park's 'mouse tail' remark targeting the Innovation Committee, saying, "I know too much about (Director Park)" and made the statement.

This was a direct response to former Director Park's Facebook post, where he wrote, "The Innovation Committee tries to draw a tiger but ends up drawing a cat, and the result is realized as a mouse tail, which is the history of the party's Innovation Committee."

Born in 1959 in Jeonju, Jeonbuk, and raised in Suncheon, Jeonnam, Chairman In is known to have a close relationship with former President Kim Dae-jung. Former Director Park served as Chief of Staff to former President Kim, and Chairman In said, "I helped a lot during former President Kim Dae-jung's era."

He added, "People from Jeolla Province have wisdom and morality," and said, "I don't think that person (former Director Park) is from Jeolla Province. It is upsetting to see such disparagement like that."

During the May 18 Democratic Uprising, Chairman In helped citizen soldiers with foreign press interviews, was monitored by the police for two years under the Chun Doo-hwan military regime, and was even on the verge of expulsion. Because of this, he harbored significant resentment toward former President Chun Doo-hwan. However, Chairman In said he was impressed when he met former President Kim Dae-jung in 1994, who told him, "Revenge is not something to be used." Chairman In emphasized, "Former President Kim embraced former President Chun Doo-hwan," and "I love former President Kim Dae-jung. He is the person who resolved my grievances."

He continued, "There is not a single disciple of former President Kim Dae-jung in the current Democratic Party," and said, "Representative Lee Jae-myung is disappointing the people of Kim Dae-jung within the Democratic Party. If you cannot respect your elders, by my standards, you are out."

Chairman In particularly criticized the Moon Jae-in administration and the Democratic Party of Korea regarding North Korea policy. He raised his voice, saying, "The Moon Jae-in administration and the Democratic Party had a majority in the legislature, but what have they done so far?" "They destroyed nuclear power plants, went to North Korea and cheered, and shortly after, (North Korea blew up the inter-Korean liaison office). Is that a success?"

He especially targeted the 386 generation (those who entered university in the 1980s) within the Democratic Party, urging them to "shift gears." He added, "The Democratic Party is becoming like former President Chun Doo-hwan," and "They are becoming like the person they hate the most."
