The three major indices of the U.S. New York Stock Exchange closed mixed and near flat on the 16th (local time), as investors monitored corporate earnings and economic indicators. It appears they took a brief pause and caught their breath after a rally fueled by recent inflation data.
On that day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 0.13% from the previous session. The large-cap-focused S&P 500 index rose 0.12%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq index increased by 0.07%.
