Public-Private Partnership Fundraising Campaign Runs Until February 14 Next Year... Support for Vulnerable Groups
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) will carry out the public-private cooperative fundraising campaign, "2024 Hope Ondol Warm Winter," until February 14 next year.
The district is promoting the campaign in cooperation with the Community Chest of Korea, Dongjak Welfare Foundation, and the Dong Community Security Council to support low-income residents in need within the area during the year-end and New Year season.
A fundraising thermometer will be installed on the first floor of the district office, and donation boxes will be placed at a total of 17 locations, including Dong Community Centers and Dongjak Welfare Foundation.
Events that spread warmth, such as collecting Love Piggy Banks at each Dong Community Center, sharing food and winter supplies, and operating one-day tea houses, will also be held throughout the community.
Additionally, non-face-to-face fundraising using QR codes will be conducted simultaneously to encourage active participation from residents.
Ways to participate in sharing include donating money through neighbor-helping donation boxes and the Seoul Community Chest of Korea account, or delivering various food items and daily necessities. All donations are eligible for donation receipts and tax deduction benefits.
All donated funds and goods will be used entirely to support vulnerable neighbors such as basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income groups, and marginalized crisis households.
Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, "We ask for residents' great interest and support so that neighbors in need can receive warm help," and added, "We will continue to strengthen various customized support for marginalized groups in the community."
