You Are the Hero of Dongdaemun-gu for Participating in Neighbor Aid Donations

Starting from the 15th, 2024 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Fundraising Begins... Targeting 1.28 Billion Won... 28 Ambassadors to Promote Donation Culture -

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Ilpyeong Lee) announced on the 15th that it has launched the 2024 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign "Our Neighborhood Sharing Campaign" in collaboration with the Seoul Community Chest of Korea.

To help vulnerable groups around us who are having a difficult winter due to the worsened economic recession and rising prices compared to previous years, the district plans to raise 1.28 billion KRW over three months until February 14 next year.

Starting from the 15th, the district has begun fundraising by hanging banners at five welfare facilities including comprehensive social welfare centers, and placing "Fruit of Love" donation boxes and QR codes for donation participation in the lobbies of welfare centers to encourage residents' participation.

On this day, 28 public relations ambassadors appointed by the Community Chest of Korea will promote the meaning of the Warm Winter project at various events and work to spread the culture of donation within the local community.

Meanwhile, through last year's Warm Winter project, about 200 million KRW was donated to 534 low-income households for living expenses, medical care, and housing costs, and about 80 million KRW was provided to local community security councils to carry out social welfare projects.

If you wish to help neighbors in need around you, you can deposit donations into the dedicated Dongdaemun-gu account (Woori Bank, Account Holder: Social Welfare Foundation Community Chest of Korea) and submit a donation certificate to the nearest community service center or Dongdaemun-gu Welfare Policy Division. Using the QR code allows online transfer of donations without the hassle of submitting a donation certificate. If you wish to donate goods, you can do so through the Dongdaemun-gu Welfare Policy Division or the community service center of your residence (or business location).

All donated money and goods will be used entirely for neighbors in need within Dongdaemun-gu, and donors can receive year-end tax benefits through the issuance of donation receipts.
