The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission announced on the 15th that public complaints related to bedbugs have nearly tripled within a week, and issued a 'complaint forecast' urging relevant agencies to establish measures to prevent the spread of bedbugs.
According to an analysis of complaints collected in the weekly complaint analysis system from the 30th of last month to the 5th of this month, bedbug-related complaints totaled 104 cases, an increase of 181.1% compared to the previous week (37 cases).
Major complaints included replacing fabric seats on subways and KTX trains, attaching notices confirming disinfection after disinfecting lodging facilities, disinfecting delivery boxes at logistics centers, and intensive inspections and pest control at multi-use facilities.
The Commission stated, "To prevent public harm caused by bedbugs, we have issued a complaint forecast related to 'bedbug spread prevention' and urged relevant agencies to implement thorough measures."
