The countries where Naver Pay's simple payment service can be used for on-site overseas payments will be significantly expanded to include Asia, Europe, the United States, and Australia.

On the 15th, Naver Financial announced that the Naver Pay QR on-site payment service can be used at Alipay Plus merchants in a total of 42 countries and regions across Asia, Europe, the United States, and Australia.

Since starting a payment partnership with Alipay in China last September, it has become possible to greatly increase the number of countries where payments can be made through Alipay Plus, Alipay's global payment network. This time, 41 countries and regions were added, including 6 in Asia?Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar?33 in Europe?Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, etc.?as well as the United States and Australia. Including China, Naver Pay Money and Points payments can now be made without a separate currency exchange process at Alipay Plus merchants in a total of 42 countries and regions.

The point lottery benefits from on-site payments will also be expanded to all Alipay Plus merchants in the 42 countries and regions worldwide. When using the Naver Pay application (app), users receive one additional lottery draw, and benefits such as earning double or quadruple the points drawn are still provided when using Naver Plus Membership or the Naver Pay Money Hana Bank account.

To make a payment, select the ‘Domestic▼’ indicator at the top of the QR code on the QR payment service screen in the Naver Pay app or Naver app, change the setting to ‘Alipay Plus Overseas,’ and then present the QR code to the payment location. It is also possible to activate the QR code scanning function in the Naver Pay app or Naver app to read the Alipay Plus payment-specific QR code provided at the payment location. Afterward, payment is made using the user's Naver Pay Money or Points without a separate currency exchange process. If the balance is insufficient for the payment amount, the connected account will be charged in units of 10,000 KRW before the payment is completed.

A Naver Pay official said, "From now on, Naver Pay users will be able to conveniently use Naver Pay not only domestically but also overseas, and receive point benefits as well. We will actively expand the regions where payments are possible so that Naver Pay can become the number one simple payment service most used by domestic users even abroad."
