Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on November 18, it will hold the youth joint festival ‘What’s your color’ planned directly by teenagers.
This festival was planned to provide teenagers, who have infinite possibilities and diverse colors, with an opportunity to find their dreams and hobbies.
First, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the ‘N개의 공론장’ (N Public Forum) will be held in the main auditorium of the district office, where discussions on eight policies proposed by the Youth Participation Committee will take place, and three priority tasks will be selected. About 80 youths and parents, including members of the Youth Participation Committee, Youth Council, student councils from each school, and parent operation committees, will attend.
From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., a performance with the theme ‘Faded Youth, Making Memories of Teenage Years’ will be held on the stage at the district office plaza. The ‘Environmental Wandering Troupe’ operated by Doksan Youth Culture House will present an original play. Teenagers directly created this play to raise awareness of environmental issues in the local community and inform residents. Afterwards, dance performances by youth clubs will take place. Finally, a random dance (random play dance) event will be held.
At the district office plaza, in addition to the stage performances, various experience booths will operate from 1:20 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
▲ ‘Career Experience’ booths where participants can try 10 different jobs such as choreographer, knot craftsman, perfumer, and special makeup artist ▲ ‘Leisure Experience’ booths offering board games, new sports, and marine safety experiences ▲ ‘Environmental Experience’ booths featuring bird upcycling activities and flea markets ▲ ‘Hobby Experience’ booths with laser games and camping experiences ▲ ‘Institution Promotion’ booths promoting projects operated by youth facilities will be available.
Participants who complete at least one experience in each zone will receive a snack exchange voucher through a stamp event.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “This festival was prepared so that teenagers with infinite possibilities and diverse colors can discover their dreams and hobbies,” and added, “We hope many Geumcheon-gu youths will participate.”
Any youth from Geumcheon-gu can participate, and for more details, inquiries can be made to Doksan Youth Culture House or the Children and Youth Division of Geumcheon-gu Office.
