Haenam-gun Secures 2.2 Billion KRW for Field Infrastructure Improvement Project Next Year

Start of Okcheon Palsan New District Selection Project, Three Continued Districts Also Underway

Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, has secured a project budget of 2.2 billion KRW for 2024 field infrastructure improvement projects, including the newly designated Okcheon Palsan district and three ongoing projects, totaling four sites.


According to the county on the 14th, the newly designated Okcheon Palsan district covers 30.3 hectares, with a total project cost of 878 million KRW. The plan is to improve agricultural infrastructure by installing farm roads, drainage channels, and irrigation facilities. Next year, a budget of 62.5 million KRW will be invested to establish the basic and implementation plans, with construction scheduled to begin in the second half of the year.

Additionally, ongoing projects will be carried out next year with an investment of 2.125 billion KRW in Hyeonsan Bongnim (110.8 hectares, total project cost 3.21 billion KRW), Hwangsan Byeongon (130.8 hectares, total project cost 3.777 billion KRW), and Hwawon Jeolgol (59.5 hectares, total project cost 1.724 billion KRW).


The field infrastructure improvement project targets consolidated fields and involves expanding and paving farm roads, improving drainage channels, and installing retention ponds. This project significantly enhances the farming environment and alleviates residents' inconveniences, making it highly well-received.


A county official stated, “With the new designation of the Okcheon Palsan district for the field infrastructure improvement project, we can swiftly advance this long-awaited project that has caused inconvenience to residents. Upon completion, stable agricultural production infrastructure will be established, which is expected to greatly contribute to increasing farmers' income through improved productivity and quality of field crops.”
