HLB BioStep, a contract research organization (CRO) company, announced on the 14th that it has recruited Vice President Kim Jong-ho as the head of its CRO business.
HLB BioStep explained that it recently strengthened its CRO business competitiveness by additionally establishing a precise analysis system for biological samples, and appointed Vice President Kim as the suitable leader to drive this business.
Kim Jong-ho, who majored in Veterinary Biochemistry at Seoul National University and completed a doctoral program in Pharmacy at Hanyang University, started his career as a researcher at CJ CheilJedang Comprehensive Research Institute. He then worked in the planning team at SK Biopharm, served as head of research planning at Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical, and led the development group at Boryung Pharmaceutical, earning recognition as an expert in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Until recently, he served as vice president at Eisen Science, an artificial intelligence (AI) drug development company, where he was responsible for business development and overall business strategy.
The company stated about Vice President Kim, "He has extensive experience and expertise in new drug development, having established plans and strategies for each development stage from early research at major pharmaceutical companies. In particular, he possesses capabilities and networks in AI drug development, which is expected to play a significant role in diversifying HLB BioStep’s business as the company secures mid- to long-term growth engines through active investment in AI drug development."
Newly appointed Vice President Kim said, “HLB BioStep already holds a solid position in the domestic non-clinical efficacy evaluation field and is a dynamic company that strengthens its competitiveness in future promising businesses through proactive and continuous investment. While accelerating diversification of orders through strategic domestic and international partnerships and enhancement of non-clinical services, I will lead the company’s sustainable growth by further expanding service areas based on advanced precision systems.”
