NCITRON, a non-memory semiconductor specialist, continued its growth in the third quarter of this year, driven by strong exports of audio semiconductors.
NCITRON announced on the 14th that its operating profit on a separate basis for the third quarter increased by 4436.8% year-on-year to 900 million KRW. During the same period, sales amounted to 7.7 billion KRW, and net profit was 1.1 billion KRW.
On a separate basis, cumulative sales for the third quarter reached 23.6 billion KRW, and operating profit was 600 million KRW, representing growth of 62.6% and 172.1% respectively compared to the same period last year. Sales related to its core business of TV audio semiconductors increased, and revenue diversification through the utilization of patents drove the improvement in performance.
The company stated, "The first royalty income was generated through the IP (intellectual property) exclusive license agreement signed with Wellang in August," adding, "Despite the semiconductor market downturn, continuous revenue generation will be sustained through revenue diversification using our owned IP."
