Operation of Nutrition Management and Walking Programs "Committed to Enhancing Residents' Health"
Wando-gun Health Living Support Center in Jeollanam-do was selected as an outstanding institution at the '2023 Health Living Support Center Project Performance Competition' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Promotion Institute on the 8th, receiving the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.

According to the county on the 14th, this performance competition was organized to reward the efforts of 82 health living support centers nationwide that actively carried out health promotion projects despite the COVID-19 situation, contributing to the prevention of chronic diseases and the practice of healthy living among residents.
The Wando-gun Health Living Support Center was highly evaluated for conducting annual health indicator analysis and resident health demand surveys, and for operating customized programs for residents such as chronic disease prevention, physical activity, and nutrition management.
In particular, they focused on increasing walking practice and physical activity in residents' daily lives by operating various walking programs such as △non-face-to-face walking challenges △training resident walking leaders △resident-led walking clubs △night Nordic walking classes.
A health care center official said, “We will continue to do our best to improve health behaviors through participatory health promotion programs based on residents' needs.”
