Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Ilpyeong Lee) held a Lifelong Learning Manager Workshop for 20 lifelong learning managers on the 27th of last month and the 10th of this month to revitalize local lifelong education.

Lifelong learning managers are residents who engage in activities to spread a culture of lifelong learning, including supporting lifelong education operations, monitoring, and promotion. This workshop was attended by managers who completed the "Training of Lifelong Education Activists and Leaders - Lifelong Learning Managers" course from April to June this year and are currently active at the Dongdaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center and Lifelong Learning Hall.

The workshop was organized to share the achievements of past projects and explore ways to build networks among the managers.

Additionally, over two days, a special lecture titled "A Lifelong Learning Village for Everyone, the Attitude and Role of Lifelong Learning Managers" was delivered by Jin Lee, Ph.D. in Lifelong Education from Ewha Womans University and visiting professor at Seoul Women’s University. Following the lecture, a roundtable discussion was held to exchange various opinions on project models related to lifelong learning managers and the development of lifelong education programs utilizing the characteristics of Dongdaemun-gu.

Mayor Ilpyeong Lee of Dongdaemun-gu stated, “We will continuously provide educational programs so that lifelong learning managers can steadily work as community-friendly lifelong learning activists with diverse ideas, and we will build ‘Dongdaemun-gu, a lifelong learning city’ where everyone enjoys learning.”

Meanwhile, the Dongdaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center operates various lifelong education programs for residents, including ▲A Walk through Today’s Economics ▲Health and Happy Life Meditation Special Lecture ▲Bold Transition in the Climate Crisis ▲UNESCO World Cultural Heritage - Various Aspects of Indian Cultural Heritage.
