'Kim Myungjin's True Politics' Publication Celebration Successfully Held

The book launch event for former Blue House Senior Administrative Officer Kim Myung-jin was successfully held with about 3,000 attendees.

On the afternoon of the 11th, former Administrative Officer Kim held a book launch for his work, Kim Myung-jin's Genuine Politics, at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center, where he shared his thoughts on recent political issues and introduced his journey into politics. The book includes his experiences working at the Blue House, National Assembly, and political parties. In particular, having served six times as chief secretary to party leaders and floor leaders, he added anecdotes related to Gwangju, such as the Military Airport Relocation Act, the Gwangju World Swimming Championships Support Act, and the Special Act on the Creation of an Asian Cultural Hub City, including related laws and budgets.

Gwangju Mayor Kang Gi-jung congratulated him in a speech, saying, “His experience and skills honed in the political arena are already at the level of a three-term lawmaker,” and added, “With his deep affection for Gwangju, he played a coordinating role in handling past Gwangju-related legislation such as the Military Airport Relocation Act, the Gwangju World Swimming Championships Support Act, and the Special Act on the Asian Cultural Hub City. The author, equipped with ability and experience, is now stepping out from a supporting role to take the lead.”

Democratic Party advisor Kwon No-gap shared an anecdote about how Kim Myung-jin, during the special prosecutor investigation on North Korea remittances, took care of Director Park Ji-won while diligently preparing for the future by studying English.

He said, “A person with loyalty also values loyalty to the people, making him a trustworthy politician.”

Former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won stated, “The greatest reform for the Democratic Party now is unity and building a strong party, and Kim Myung-jin is essential for this,” adding, “During his time at the Blue House, Kim Myung-jin was capable and had outstanding political sensibility, standing out clearly.”

He continued, “Kim Myung-jin’s ability to shake off failures without despair and to challenge again reflects the depth of someone who learned politics from DJ (Kim Dae-jung),” and said, “I sincerely hope that Kim Myung-jin’s genuine sincerity, who knows the National Assembly better than lawmakers themselves, will resonate this time.”

Secretary-General and General Election Planning Team Leader Cho Jung-sik, Democratic Party faction leader Jeong Seong-ho, and National Assembly member Moon Jin-seok, among others, recalled their time working together in the National Assembly through congratulatory messages, expressing, “We look forward to the opportunity for this well-prepared National Assembly expert, trained in politics for a long time, to contribute to the development of Gwangju, political restoration, and the Republic of Korea.”

Notably, close acquaintances such as Kim Young-cheol, president of the Seoseok High School Alumni Association; Choi Kyu-woong, president of the Yangdong Gyeongyeol Market Merchants Association; Kim Yosep, director of Shinaewon; and Park Ji-hyun, CEO of Munhwa Tori, drew attention by describing the sincere and diligent character of the author through their speeches titled “Kim Myung-jin as I Know Him.”

Former Administrative Officer Kim said, “Genuine politics is politics that, with a heart for the people, acts as a handkerchief wiping away the sweat and tears of those in hardship,” and added, “As a prepared National Assembly expert, I will walk the path of a politician who is praised and applauded for genuine politics based on a heart for the people, not the technical politics of a political operator.”
