Connect Place Seoul Station, a complex shopping and cultural space operated by Hanwha Connect, is emerging as a gourmet sanctuary by attracting a large number of trendy restaurants.
Hanwha Connect announced on the 9th that it will reopen the 3rd-floor Station Zone of Connect Place Seoul Station at the end of this month after renovation. It will be reorganized into a food hall and dessert cafes for urban gourmets under the concept of 'Office Gastronomy'.
It will showcase a large number of representative traditional Korean food brands popular among office workers. These include 'Ido Gomtang,' a beef bone soup restaurant loved for three generations by office workers in Yeoksam-dong; 'Baeknyeonok,' Seoul’s representative tofu specialty restaurant selected by the Michelin Guide; 'Ojangdong Heungnamjip,' a Hamheung cold noodles specialty restaurant with 70 years of tradition; 'Gajok Hoegwan,' a healthy Jeonju bibimbap restaurant with 44 years of tradition; and 'Seorijae,' a charcoal-grilled specialty restaurant.
It also attracts trendy restaurants favored by the younger generation, captivating visitors’ eyes and palates. New tenants include 'Tam Tam,' a Vietnamese health cuisine restaurant famous for spicy beef tripe pho and nourishing pho; 'Donicchi,' a rice bowl & ramen specialty restaurant known in Jamsil Songridan-gil; 'Housum,' popular for Hong Kong-style claypot rice and dim sum; 'Gottensushi,' a Japanese conveyor belt sushi restaurant with 30 years of tradition; 'Hoshikatsu,' an authentic Japanese tonkatsu restaurant famous in Cheongdam-dong; and 'Junghwaga Jeong,' a Chinese cuisine specialty restaurant.
In the direction of the Seoul Station concourse, cafes such as 'Dore Dore' and 'Beans & Berries' have been renewed into open coffee bar formats. A new popup store zone has been created to introduce new trendy restaurants seasonally. The first brand in the popup store zone will be 'Knotted,' a donut brand especially loved by the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) for its cute packaging and cream-filled donuts.
Earlier, Connect Place Seoul Station fully renovated its 4th floor last year, attracting six premium restaurants and one specialty store. Since then, this area has gained attention as a business and various meeting venue, with sales increasing by about 125% compared to before the renovation through the third quarter of this year. With three premium dessert brands located in the outdoor space on the 1st floor and the newly added trendy restaurants from this renovation, Connect Place Seoul Station now offers a wide range of gourmet experiences from premium to casual dining, as well as various dessert brands and cafes.
