Search Conducted on Doctor and Hospital Who Supplied Drugs to Lee Seon-gyun Through Entertainment Bar Manager

The police conducted a search and seizure of a current doctor and the hospital he operates, who are suspected of providing drugs to actor Lee Seon-gyun (48) through a manager of a nightlife establishment.

The Narcotics Crime Investigation Division of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency carried out a search and seizure on the 9th of Dr. A (42), a current doctor booked on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act, and a hospital in Gangnam, Seoul, securing medical records and other materials. The medical records are reported to be related to narcotics prescribed by Dr. A over time.

The hospital operated by Dr. A is known to have received warnings from health authorities this year due to excessive prescriptions of propofol. The police are also expected to execute a search warrant on Dr. A’s mobile phone, which was pre-approved by the court, on the same day.

Dr. A is suspected of providing drugs to Lee and others through B (female, 29, detained), a manager of a Gangnam nightlife venue. After analyzing the seized items obtained that day, the police plan to summon Dr. A as a suspect for investigation soon.

Meanwhile, B, who has six prior convictions including drug use, was recently detained and prosecuted on charges of repeatedly using methamphetamine and smoking marijuana several times this year. B worked at a nightlife venue in Gangnam, Seoul, where she built connections with Lee and other celebrities. This nightlife venue is a so-called "membership room salon" primarily catering to high-income clients.

Lee, who is accused of drug use, claimed during a recent police investigation that "B deceived me and gave me the drugs. I did not know they were narcotics." Lee also filed a complaint against B and an unidentified person C for extortion, stating that "I was threatened in connection with the drug case and was extorted for 350 million won."

However, B claimed, "I was also threatened via social networking services (SNS) by C, who doubted my relationship with Lee," adding, "I do not know who C is."
