OCI Holdings held a celebration event on the 7th to commemorate its 64th anniversary, with all employees gathered together. OCI was founded on November 8, 1959.
This was the first anniversary event since the launch of OCI Holdings. CEO Seo Jin-seok and employees gathered in the newly renovated office space to hold a tea meeting combined with the anniversary celebration. During the meeting, the ‘Love 1004 Movement’ event, planned to share the meaning of the founding with society, was introduced, conveying the message that the positive influence of the company and its employees can make the world a warmer place.
The ‘Love 1004 Movement’ is a volunteer fund involving employee participation that started in 2006 to help neighbors in need. It is funded by deducting 1004 KRW per account from the salaries of employees who voluntarily sign up each month, and the company adds matching funds to deliver support where it is needed.
Additionally, the event included awards for long-term employees and a celebration for employees with birthdays in November, the company’s founding month, to strengthen bonds among employees. In particular, Stephane Hantusch, manager of Strategy Team 1, who received the 10-year long-term service award this year, expressed, “Having joined OCI in 2013 and worked in various departments, I feel a great sense of responsibility as a member of the team in charge of global business strategy at OCI Holdings. As a manager responsible for global strategy at the holding company, I want to contribute to discovering future growth engines for the company.”
OCI Holdings Chairman Lee Woo-hyun stated, “I deeply thank all employees who have dedicated themselves to OCI’s development and leap over the past 60 years,” adding, “As we face the upcoming new 100 years, let us respond wisely to the changing environment around us, enhance the company’s social value, fulfill our respective responsibilities, and achieve sustainable growth together.”
Meanwhile, to address the difficulty in blood supply on its anniversary, OCI Holdings will conduct a company-wide ‘Love Blood Donation Campaign’ throughout November. Blood donation events will be held simultaneously on the 13th of this month at OCI Holdings and OCI headquarters in Seoul, as well as at the Gunsan and Pohang plants.
