Gyeonggi Office of Education Holds 'Preschool Integration Promotion Group Workshop' with Seoul and Incheon Offices of Education

Workshop of the Metropolitan Office of Education's Integrated Kindergarten and Childcare Promotion Group

On the 8th, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education held the 'Metropolitan Area Offices of Education Childcare Integration Promotion Group Workshop' at the Uijeongbu Northern Office to discuss the direction of promoting childcare integration.

The workshop was organized to share successful childcare integration progress plans, with participation from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education childcare integration promotion groups.

According to the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, the workshop was significant as it marked the first consultation among childcare integration officials from metropolitan area offices of education, which account for 50% of the nation's infants and toddlers.

During the workshop, topics such as ▲the necessity of forming cooperative relationships among metropolitan area offices of education ▲the current status of childcare integration promotion by each institution ▲and plans for transferring quotas from local governments were discussed. The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education shared the scale of quota transfers from the Gyeonggi Provincial Government and exchanged opinions on challenges to be addressed during the process.

No Su-ja, Director of Early Childhood Education at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated, "Considering the number of infants and toddlers in Gyeonggi, Seoul, and Incheon, the importance of promoting childcare integration in the metropolitan area cannot be overstated. Starting with today's workshop, we will strive to establish momentum for successful childcare integration promotion and actively work to implement stable transfer plans in finance, personnel, and organizational areas through cooperation among metropolitan area offices of education."

Meanwhile, the Provincial Office of Education held the inauguration ceremony of the childcare integration promotion team on the 7th and officially began promoting childcare integration.
