This Year's CSAT: COVID-19 Positive Students Also Take Exam at Same Venue... Lunch Provided in Separate Area

Ministry of Education CSAT Precautions Notice
Wear a Mask if Suspecting COVID-19 Symptoms

The 2024 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), scheduled for the 16th, will allow COVID-19 positive or symptomatic test-takers to take the exam in the same testing rooms as other examinees.

On the 7th, the Ministry of Education announced these CSAT guidelines through a press release. However, test-takers confirmed to have COVID-19 are advised to wear KF94 masks at all times and have lunch in a separate area prepared at the test site. Test-takers with suspected COVID-19 symptoms must wear health masks rated KF80 or higher.

Test-takers must attend the preliminary gathering held on the 15th, the day before the exam, to receive their admission tickets and various instructions including exam precautions.

They should check the elective subjects listed on their admission tickets and confirm the location of their test site in advance to avoid going to the wrong place on exam day.

On the exam day, test-takers must bring their admission ticket and a photo ID and enter the designated exam room by 8:10 a.m. If the admission ticket is lost, they can obtain a replacement by bringing one photo identical to the one attached to their application form and an ID to the exam management office by 8 a.m. on the exam day. If no photo is available, a temporary admission ticket can be issued upon reporting to the exam management office.

All electronic devices such as mobile phones, smart devices (including smartwatches), tablet PCs, earphones with communication (Bluetooth) functions, and electronic cigarettes are prohibited from being brought into the exam site. If such devices are brought, they must be submitted to the proctor before the first period begins and will be returned after the exam ends. Failure to submit electronic devices and being caught carrying them will be treated as cheating, and the exam will be invalidated.

Regarding watches, only analog watches without payment or communication functions (such as Bluetooth) or electronic display screens (LCD, LED, etc.) are allowed.

Items necessary for personal physical conditions or medical reasons, such as hearing aids or magnifying glasses, may be carried after prior inspection by the proctor before each period.

In case of emergencies such as earthquakes during the exam, each test site will promptly take measures prioritizing the safety of test-takers according to pre-established protocols. Test-takers should remain calm and follow the instructions of the exam management office and proctors.
