"First Customer Seen in 3 Years at Unmanned Cafe"
A group of students entered an unmanned store, drank water, then clasped their hands and bowed toward the closed-circuit television (CCTV), capturing attention.
On the 7th, an online community for self-employed business owners posted a message titled "I respect the parents of these children." Mr. A, who has been running an unmanned cafe for three years, began by saying, “Running an unmanned cafe, I see all kinds of customers. Sometimes I get hurt, sometimes I get encouraged.”
He continued, “Today it was raining, so there weren’t many customers, and I was worried about the umbrella left there earlier, so I checked the CCTV. To my surprise, two kids passing by drank water at the cafe and then greeted like that,” sharing the CCTV footage.
In the CCTV footage, a boy wearing gray clothes bowed his head while holding the door, followed by another boy in black clothes who clasped his hands and bowed respectfully. The boy in black bowed again in front of the door before leaving the store.
Mr. A praised, “After drinking water, the kids looked for the camera, clasped their hands, and greeted like that. They greeted again as they left. It was so heartwarming. I naturally thought, ‘Whose children are these? They really grew up well.’”
He added, “This is my third year running an unmanned cafe, and it’s the first time I’ve seen such polite greetings. Actually, things like water, wet wipes, and straws are often taken without concern. Even when the owner is cleaning, they just come in, take wet wipes, and wipe their shoes,” and said, “So I had strong prejudices against kids these days. But seeing this made me reflect on my narrow-mindedness.”
He concluded, “Today’s business was a failure, but thanks to these kids, I feel very good. Kids, I hope the best luck accompanies every part of your lives.”
Netizens who saw the post praised the children’s behavior with comments like, “This is touching. The kids are so kind,” “Grow up just as you are now,” “The parents of those kids must be happy every day,” and “Thanks to them, my fatigue from the day melted away.”
