The city explained that the rapid chargers were installed to secure mobility rights and improve convenience for the mobility-impaired visiting these two locations.

Electric mobility aids such as electric wheelchairs can only be used for about 5 hours after a full charge, which can limit outings and travel for the mobility-impaired. There is also a risk of safety accidents if the wheelchair stops due to sudden battery depletion.

The city added that using the rapid chargers, electric wheelchairs can be charged up to 80% in about 20 minutes.

Hwaseong City plans to secure additional rapid chargers for electric wheelchairs within tourist sites to ensure safe travel for the mobility-impaired using electric mobility aids.

Jung Myung-geun, mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "We will strive to expand tourism infrastructure so that the mobility-impaired can travel safely and conveniently to tourist attractions without inconvenience."
