Gwangju Nam-gu Publicly Recruits Lunchbox Manufacturing and Delivery Companies for Food-Insecure Children

Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will publicly recruit lunchbox manufacturing and delivery companies to promote the meal support project for children at risk of food insecurity next year.

On the 7th, Nam-gu announced, "We are recruiting companies that will diligently carry out lunchbox manufacturing and delivery so that children from low-income families can grow up healthily."

The meal support project for children at risk of food insecurity provides lunchboxes for one year to children under 18 years old in the district who are at risk of food insecurity. The number of beneficiaries for next year is estimated to be around 50.

Nam-gu plans to provide lunchboxes daily to the children or families of the respective households throughout the next year.

Eligibility for applying to the meal support project requires that the business location is currently in Gwangju and that there have been no penalties for violations such as the Food Sanitation Act within the past two years.

Additionally, the company must employ a nutritionist and have all necessary facilities and personnel for business operations, including menu planning, management of meal recipients, lunchbox manufacturing, and delivery.

To recruit diligent companies, Nam-gu posted a prior public notice regarding the meal support project for children at risk of food insecurity on the Nam-gu Office website starting October 31.

Applications will be accepted on the 15th and 16th of this month, and must be submitted in person at the Child and Youth Division on the 8th floor of Nam-gu Office.

The selection of the executing company is expected to take place in December. Nam-gu plans to hold a Child Meal Committee meeting for fair selection, conducting document evaluation, presentation review, and sample lunchbox evaluation before making the final decision.
