Gwangju Buk-gu Holds 'Bukpyeong Day' to Share Lifelong Learning Achievements

On the 7th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the '2023 Bukpyeong Day' event on the 10th at the outdoor area of Buk-gu Lifelong Learning Center.


The Bukpyeong Day event was prepared to share various achievements of participants in Buk-gu lifelong learning programs and to provide an opportunity for local residents, lifelong learning-related institution workers, and activists to interact with each other.

Under the theme of 'Everyone's Bukpyeong,' this event will be attended by about 300 local residents, including those involved in Buk-gu lifelong learning programs such as 'Knee School,' 'Wol Day Class,' and 'Neighborhood Classroom,' as well as urban regeneration village activists. The opening ceremony and various achievement-sharing programs will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the day of the event.


First, the main achievement-sharing programs will include ▲ Bukpyeong Kitchen ▲ Bukpyeong Market ▲ Bukpyeong Table ▲ Bukpyeong Photo Studio ▲ Bukpyeong Treasure Hunt, which showcase the identity and stories of this year’s Buk-gu lifelong learning projects through food, goods, and other outputs to inform residents.


In addition, 47 event booths operated by teams exhibiting and offering free experiences of the results of seven projects currently underway at the Buk-gu Lifelong Learning Center will be available.


Especially at the closing ceremony, participants will collectively sing 'Everyone's Song,' which they have written and composed on-site by presenting musical notes and lifelong learning keywords related to Buk-gu, creating a moment of shared empathy for lifelong learning in Buk-gu.


A Buk-gu official said, "Living in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution with unpredictable future changes, lifelong learning is necessary for us to actively respond to big and small changes." He added, "Through this event, we hope to widely promote the value of learning to residents and spread a community culture that continuously grows and innovates based on lifelong learning."
