Seventy individuals of the internationally protected Hooded Crane were observed at Madongho National Wetland in Goseong, Gyeongnam.


On the 5th, 70 Hooded Cranes were confirmed at Madongho National Wetland in Goseong.


According to experts, the flock, which was migrating to Japan for wintering, is believed to have visited Madongho National Wetland for feeding and resting.



The Hooded Crane is classified as Vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List, making it a globally urgent species for protection.


In South Korea, it is also designated as a Class II endangered wild species and a natural monument, and is protected accordingly.
