Jungkook's first solo album, GOLDEN, is receiving focused attention from overseas media.

On the 7th, according to his agency Big Hit Music, the American music media outlet Consequence of Sound stated, "Jungkook is an all-rounder who can blend his voice, stage presence, and choreography style into various genres. Above all, he knows how to use his voice, the greatest 'instrument'." They added, "What is clear is that Jungkook has stepped forward to establish his position as a 'global pop star.'"

The American daily USA Today evaluated, "Jungkook successfully incorporated various genres such as R&B, EDM, disco funk, and pop ballads into GOLDEN." They mentioned Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Usher, and Michael Jackson, explaining, "With GOLDEN, Jungkook has secured his ticket to pop superstardom."

AP News introduced GOLDEN as "one of the strongest pop debut works of the year," stating, "Through this album, Jungkook shows a proper understanding of pop performance. He also confirms that innovative collaborations are necessary in today's pop performances through the featured tracks filling his solo album."

The British music magazine NME introduced the new release with the headline "A new pop king is ready to take the throne," describing GOLDEN as containing Jungkook's multifaceted artistry, charismatic vocals, and irresistible pop charm.

NME noted, "There has been a 'pop king' every decade, but in the 2020s, there has yet to be a major male solo star. With GOLDEN, Jungkook has proven that he more than fulfills that role. The 2020s have finally found their 'pop king,' and GOLDEN will be more than just a guarantee of his throne," highlighting Jungkook's trajectory.

Jungkook's solo album GOLDEN, released on the 3rd, became a 'double million-seller' within five hours of release according to Hanteo Chart, and set a new record for the most streams by a K-pop solo artist on the world's largest streaming platform, Spotify, based on the chart entry date. On Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global,' the solo single "Seven (feat. Latto)" and the new title track "Standing Next to You" ranked first and second respectively for three consecutive days.
