Following the ‘Mini Special Forces’ and ‘Catch! Tinyping’ series, SAMG Entertainment (CEO Kim Suhoon, hereinafter SAMG Entertainment)’s ‘Metal Card Bot’ is entering the Chinese market.
SAMG Entertainment announced on the 7th that the first season of the 3D boy action robot series Metal Card Bot has started airing on Chinese OTT platforms and TV.
Metal Card Bot was simultaneously launched on March 3rd on China’s four major OTT platforms: ▲Youku ▲Tencent ▲iQIYI ▲Mango. Since the total number of paid subscribers across these four major OTT channels exceeds 300 million, it is expected that Metal Card Bot will be able to secure a fandom in China within a short period.
Additionally, Metal Card Bot will be sequentially broadcast on a total of 36 stations, starting with China’s largest kids TV channel ‘Jin Ying Cartoon’, which is watched by over 200 million households, as well as ‘KAKU’ and ‘JIAJIA Cartoon’. The airtime is scheduled during prime time (19:30?20:45) on most major kids channels.
Metal Card Bot is a boy action robot series launched by SAMG Entertainment in March. Since its launch, it has quickly grown into one of the top 3 domestic boys’ IPs, with the highest domestic viewership rating exceeding 3%. Fueled by this strong popularity, the production of seasons 2 and 3 was confirmed early.
SAMG Entertainment plans to leverage its successful experience with the Mini Special Forces and Catch! Tinyping series in the Chinese market to develop Metal Card Bot into a hit IP in China as well. In particular, Metal Card Bot combines collectible cards and robot genres, which are currently creating a huge craze in the Chinese market, raising high expectations for its success.
A SAMG Entertainment official said, “Metal Card Bot, planned as a collectible robot series, is gaining great popularity among fans to the extent that it is called the ‘robot version of Catch! Tinyping.’ We will use this Chinese launch as an opportunity to actively expand Metal Card Bot’s global fandom.”
