The College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) day is approaching on the 16th.
It is a crucial milestone to test three years of study and gain admission to the desired university.
Not only the students preparing for college entrance exams but also their parents are fully focused on the 2024 college admission strategies.
Meanwhile, Seoul’s autonomous districts have organized 2024 college admission strategy briefing sessions immediately after the CSAT.
They have created opportunities to analyze this year’s CSAT scores and hear university-specific admission strategies from top admission experts.
Gwanak-gu to hold ‘2023 Career and College Admission Mentoring Fair’ on the 11th
From 10 a.m. on the 11th, 1:1 customized admission counseling with professional consultants and university students from 24 departments for middle and high school students
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) will hold the ‘2023 Career and College Admission Mentoring Fair’ at 10 a.m. on November 11 to support the career and college admission of middle and high school students and their parents.
The ‘2023 Career and College Admission Mentoring Fair’ was planned to help Gwanak-gu students who are fiercely preparing for college entrance exams establish career and admission strategies.
This fair will be composed of ▲ ‘Admission Mentoring’ with university students and ▲ ‘Admission Counseling’ with professional career and admission consultants.
The admission mentoring team includes mentors from 24 departments: 4 medical and health-related departments including the Department of Pharmacy at Seoul National University, 7 natural science and engineering departments, 5 humanities departments, 5 social and business departments, and 3 education-related departments, who will share department information and know-how necessary for college preparation.
Admission counseling will provide 1:1 customized admission information on high school selection and college preparation by professional career and admission consultants.
The number of participants is 100 for each of the two sessions of admission mentoring and 50 for admission counseling. Participants can apply in advance through the ‘Gwanak Career and Job Experience Support Center Blog.’

Jung-gu to offer ‘2024 College Admission Free Mock Interview Consulting’ at Jung-gu Education Support Center on the 17th and 18th
Seoul Jung-gu (Mayor Kim Gil-sung) will provide free ‘2024 College Admission Mock Interview Consulting’ for high school seniors and parents who applied for early and regular college admissions on the 17th and 18th, right after the CSAT.
The target is 80 examinees residing in Jung-gu or attending schools in the district, and the venue is the Jung-gu Education Support Center. On Friday, sessions run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with each session lasting 40 minutes.
This consulting will be conducted by experienced professional admission consultants and former university admission officers. Based on pre-submitted school records and self-introduction letters, 1:1 mock interviews will be held to provide in-depth guidance for optimal interview preparation tailored to each student.
It helps correct individual weaknesses and allows examinees to gain practical interview experience suited to the universities they applied to. It also provides ‘sweet tips’ for successful interviews, including expected questions aligned with the latest trends, answer types and methods, attire, and interview manners.
The district also provided mock interview consulting to 40 examinees on October 20 and 21 before the CSAT to prepare for early admission interviews. A participating parent expressed great satisfaction, saying, “The cost of mock interview consulting is usually over 500,000 KRW per session, so I hesitated, but I feel reassured that the district offers such a great program.”
The Jung-gu Education Support Center operates as a hub for education policies in Jung-gu, running various programs for elementary, middle, and high school students and parents. It offers timely programs such as high school admission fairs and college early admission success strategy briefings to help cope with complex and difficult admission processes, establishing itself as an indispensable core of Jung-gu education.
Mayor Kim Gil-sung of Jung-gu said, “We hope the mock interview consulting will ease the admission concerns of examinees and parents,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to provide essential programs for students at the right time to offer practical help during the admission process.”
Seocho-gu to hold ‘2024 College Admission Regular Admission Support Strategy Briefing’ for high school seniors and parents at 10 a.m. on the 18th
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold the ‘2024 College Admission Regular Admission Support Strategy Briefing’ for 600 high school seniors and parents at 10 a.m. on the 18th at the Seocho Cultural and Arts Center in Yangjae-dong.
The district prepared this briefing to help examinees navigate the annually changing college admission system and support their university and department admissions.
This briefing will provide customized latest admission information such as predicted university-specific passing scores based on preliminary scoring of the CSAT on the 16th and regular admission support strategies by department from top domestic admission education experts.
First, Lim Seong-ho, CEO of Jongno Academy, will explain ▲2024 regular admission CSAT score predictions ▲university-specific advantages and disadvantages considering subject score differences ▲variables affecting passing scores based on preliminary scoring.
Next, Jang Moon-seong, director of Jongno Academic Development Institute, will present themed regular admission support strategies such as ▲analysis of regular admission recruitment groups ▲support strategies for the top 15 universities’ regular admissions ▲support strategies for medical, dental, oriental medicine, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine regular admissions.
After the briefing, a replay service will be available on the YouTube channel ‘SeochoRunTV,’ and participants can download the materials.
From 1 p.m. on the briefing day, ‘1:1 Preliminary Scoring Consulting’ will be held at the Renaissance Hall in the basement level 1 of the Seocho Cultural and Arts Center. Ten admission consultants will conduct in-depth counseling on essay writing, interviews, and university-specific tests for 80 pre-registered examinees and parents.
Both the briefing and 1:1 preliminary scoring consulting will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis through the Seocho-gu Education Support Center website until the 14th.
From the 21st to the 30th of next month, the district will also conduct ‘1:1 Customized Regular Admission Consulting’ at four education support centers in the Seocho-gu area. About 400 local examinees will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis, and those interested can apply from the 21st on the district education support center website.

Gwangjin-gu to hold ‘Post-2025 College Admission Preparation, Gwangjin Admission Concert’ on the 21st
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will hold the ‘Post-2025 College Admission Preparation, Gwangjin Admission Concert’ for about 400 high school students and parents at the district office auditorium on the 21st.
This admission concert is themed ‘Preparing for College Admission after 2025’ and aims to help students systematically prepare for the changing admission system. Part 1 features a ‘Special Lecture by Admission Experts,’ and Part 2 offers ‘Lively Admission Stories from Prestigious University Alumni.’
In Part 1, Lee Man-gi, director of Uway Admission Research Institute, an admission expert, will provide clear explanations covering ▲the 2024 CSAT and college admission trends ▲how to prepare for college admissions changing after 2025.
In Part 2, four current students from Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Korea University representing different fields will share their experiences and serious admission stories. This includes ▲my admission success story and ▲my tips for college admission success, offering valuable firsthand experiences.
After the thematic briefings, there will be a Q&A session to resolve questions about career and college admissions of interest.

Yeongdeungpo-gu to hold College Admission Regular Admission Support Strategy Briefing at 10 a.m. on the 25th
Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced it will hold a ‘College Admission Regular Admission Support Strategy Briefing’ at 10 a.m. on the 25th at Yeongdeungpo Art Hall for successful admission planning.
The district prepared this briefing to provide accurate information to examinees and parents and assist in establishing admission strategies in response to the changed 2024 admission system and recruitment guidelines.
This briefing will be led by Woo Yeon-cheol, director of the JinHakSa Admission Strategy Research Institute, an admission expert. Under the theme of ‘Regular Admission Passing Strategies’ focusing on the basics and core points, he will introduce various admission information that examinees and parents are most curious about, including changes in CSAT difficulty, admission result predictions based on preliminary scoring, customized strategies by score, major universities’ regular admission guidelines, and essential points to check before applying for regular admission. A Q&A session will follow to address additional questions.
Participants will also receive the JinHakSa 2024 regular admission materials and placement reference tables (based on preliminary scoring).
The briefing will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for 300 pre-registered participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Those wishing to attend can apply from 10 a.m. on November 6 through the Yeongdeungpo University Admission Information Center website notification window. However, if both a student and a parent attend together, each must apply separately.
Additionally, the district offers 1:1 counseling by admission experts based on years of data. Counseling is held at the University Admission Information Center and is free up to three times for district residents. Applications must be made at least three days before the counseling date via the center’s website.
Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Choi Ho-kwon said, “We prepared this briefing to alleviate the difficulties and anxieties about admission for examinees and parents and to provide diverse and accurate information,” adding, “We will continue to create a premium education city with various educational policies to bridge education information gaps and support students’ futures.”
Guro-gu to operate ‘2025 College Admission Academy for Parents’
Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) will operate the ‘2025 College Admission Academy for Parents’ to help parents of prospective examinees establish successful college admission strategies.
The target is 50 parents of prospective examinees who currently have children from 3rd grade middle school to 2nd grade high school.
This special lecture series will be held four times between November 28 and December 7, covering ▲November 28: Understanding the High School Credit System and Essential College Admission Information ▲November 30: Career Planning for Children and Study Tips to Improve School Grades ▲December 5: Establishing Successful Strategies for 2025 College Admission Success ▲December 7: Understanding New Document Evaluation Factors and Enhancing Student Records and Special Notes.
The lecturer is Kim Yong-taek, CEO of Shinuihansu Admission Strategy Research Institute, who has extensive experience in college admission planning.
The sessions will be held at the Guro Learning Support Center on the 2nd floor of the Guro-gu Community Center. Those wishing to participate can apply in advance through the Guro Learning Support Center website.
