Ministry of Education to Increase Subject and Creative Experiential Activities After CSAT

Program Expanded More Than Twice Compared to Last Year

The Ministry of Education will more than double the creative experiential activity programs at the end of the school year after the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).


On the 7th, the Ministry of Education announced through the 'Support Plan for Academic Operations at the End of the School Year after CSAT' that it will continue educational activities in principle with in-person classes after CSAT at the end of the school year, while supporting flexible academic operations according to the guidelines of metropolitan and provincial offices of education and school plans.


The Ministry of Education will provide online and offline content and educational programs that can be used in both subjects and creative experiential activities so that schools can operate customized curricula reflecting student demand such as interests and career paths, as well as regional conditions, and link and operate various programs with creative experiential activities.


In particular, programs for drug abuse prevention education and gambling problem prevention education have been strengthened, and programs necessary for everyday economic activities such as credit management, financial fraud prevention, taxes, and real estate have been added. These programs come from 83 institutions, an increase from last year’s 43 institutions, and the number of programs has increased to 171, more than double last year’s 80.

Additionally, to protect students from various safety accidents, a 'Student Safety Special Period' will be operated from the 16th of this month to the 31st of next month in cooperation with related ministries, metropolitan and provincial offices of education. During this period, the Ministry of Education will strengthen inspections and improvements of harmful environments for youth, prevention activities for youth drinking and abuse of harmful substances, safety management of lodging facilities and encouraging staff attention, and prevention activities for underage unlicensed driving.


Metropolitan and provincial offices of education and schools will also strengthen education and life guidance to prevent student misconduct, raise safety awareness, and prevent accidents.
