Jo Jung-sik: "Yoon's Reckless Actions Worsen Livelihood Economy"
The Democratic Party of Korea held the first meeting of the General Election Planning Committee on the 6th, marking the start of full-scale preparations for the general election.
At the first meeting of the party's General Election Planning Committee held at the National Assembly that day, Representative Lee Jae-myung emphasized, "Next year's general election is a turning point that will determine the fate of the Republic of Korea beyond just the Democratic Party," adding, "The responsibility lies with the Democratic Party to make this election a starting point to judge the arrogant tyranny of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and to save the livelihoods in crisis."

Representative Lee criticized, "(The government) is still ignoring the National Assembly and regressing and recklessly running wild even in this situation," and said, "If we are unable to check the ruling party's unilateral dominance in the general election, it is obvious without even seeing how this government's regression and recklessness will unfold." He continued, "Therefore, we will approach the general election with a desperate and humble heart," emphasizing, "We will unite all the party's capabilities, present practical livelihood alternatives, and promote bold changes and innovations that meet the people's expectations."
Cho Jung-sik, Secretary-General and head of the General Election Planning Committee, also criticized, "Over the past year and a half, the Republic of Korea has been collapsing due to the incompetence and recklessness of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, and the livelihood economy is being driven to its worst situation," adding, "The prosecution, obsessed with suppressing the opposition party; the Board of Audit and Inspection, which has become a servant of the administration; and the National Intelligence Service, which threatens the National Election Commission?these illegal and deviant acts of power have exceeded dangerous levels." He particularly mentioned policies the government and ruling party are pushing ahead of next year's general election, such as the 69-hour workweek, expansion of medical personnel quotas, and the plan to incorporate Gimpo City into Seoul, criticizing, "They are mocking national affairs as if playing a joke."
He presented three directions as the 'victory strategy' of the General Election Planning Committee. Secretary-General Cho explained, "First, we will show the people the efficacy of politics as a competent livelihood party responsible for the people's lives," and "Second, we will boldly open doors to youth and future generations and lead the future with new agendas." He also added, "Third, we will continuously innovate through unity and integration," and "We will discover talented individuals with both ability and morality and provide fair opportunities to political newcomers."
Secretary-General Cho said, "Division and arrogance are the enemies the Democratic Party must most guard against," and "We will do our best and surely win together with the people."
