The Busan Broadcasting Video Forum held the "20th Anniversary Expert Grand Debate of the Busan Broadcasting Video Forum" on the afternoon of the 3rd from 4 PM at the 2nd floor public hall of the Busan Viewer Media Center.
About 100 people attended the event, including Professor Jeong Mi-young from Dongmyung University, Kim Chi-yong, Chairman of the Busan Broadcasting Video Forum, Lee Sang-ho, Executive Director, Gong Ji-heun, Business General Director, Choi Byung-han, CEO of Busan MBC, and Yang Hong-seon, Director of KBS Busan Headquarters.
The event was hosted by Professor Jeong Mi-young and consisted of "Part 1: Expert Grand Debate" and "Part 2: The 18th Busan Video Contest Awards Ceremony."
The Part 1 expert grand debate was held under the theme "The Significance of the World's First Stereoscopic (3D) Terrestrial Broadcasting Transmission," featuring a presentation by Kwon Oh-jun, CEO of DM Studio, and discussions by Kim Sung-hoon, Head of the Busan Joint Research Lab at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, Professor Cha Min-chul from the Department of Film Studies at Dong-Eui University, and Moon Sang-hwan, Deputy Manager of the Technology Department at Busan MBC.
In his presentation, CEO Kwon Oh-jun stated, "With the world's first stereoscopic (3D) terrestrial broadcasting as a milestone, it is necessary to establish a stable standardization model and a virtuous ecosystem."
Chairman Kim Chi-yong said, "On the occasion of the forum's 20th anniversary today, we pledge to work even harder to become the best global forum event in the field of broadcasting video content worldwide, looking ahead to the next 200 years beyond Busan and Korea."

The Part 2 event featured the awards ceremony for the 18th Busan Video Contest, presenting one grand prize, two excellence awards, eight encouragement awards, and five special awards.
Hong Tae-eun, who submitted the work "I am a Busan Person," received the grand prize (Busan Mayor's Award) and a prize of 3 million KRW. Lee Eun-hye, who submitted "The Alley of Art and Romance, Gamcheon Culture," and Kwon Tae-chul, who submitted "People of Sinam," received excellence awards.
Kim Chi-yong, Chairman of the Busan Broadcasting Video Forum, said, "This contest became even more meaningful with the participation of many people across regions and generations," and added, "We will continue to strive to discover more K-creators in the future."
The Busan Broadcasting Video Forum and the Viewer Media Foundation Busan Center accepted submissions for the "18th Busan Video Contest" from September 1 to October 8, covering all topics related to Busan such as ▲2030 Busan World Expo bid activities ▲efforts to overcome the climate crisis ▲culture, arts, tourism, and marine themes. A total of 90 works were submitted to the contest.
The Busan Broadcasting Video Forum is an organization founded on September 19, 2003, with the purpose of networking among industry, academia, government, and research to develop the video culture industry in the Busan region. The forum includes more than 100 experts and professionals related to broadcasting and video content.
